Privacy Policy — PupCrochet

Short version: PupCrochet doesn't collect personally identifiable information.Everything you make happens in your browser. We use Google Analytics 4 to count anonymous page views and pattern downloads so we know what's useful — no accounts, no payment, no newsletter, no advertising trackers.

What data we collect

None.PupCrochet is a static website plus browser-side JavaScript. We don't have a database with your information.

Image uploads

When you upload an image to use as your sweater pattern, the file is processed entirely inside your browser using your computer's own image-decoding APIs. The image is never sent to our servers or any third party.When you close the tab, it's gone.

Pet name input

When you type your pet's name in the Name tab, the text is rendered as a pixel-font pattern in your browser using a built-in font table. We don't log, store, or transmit the name anywhere.

PDF downloads

The PDF you download is generated on your device by your browser. We don't see what's in it, what breed you chose, or what colors you picked.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics 4(GA4) to understand which pages get visited, which breed patterns are downloaded most, and how visitors find the site. GA4 does not store full IP addresses by default and we don't pass any personally identifiable information (name, email, dog photos, custom names you type) to it. The events we track are:

page_view — which URL was viewed
generator_start — Download or Share button clicked
pdf_generated — PDF successfully built in your browser
file_download — PDF actually saved or shared, with the breed and motif you chose

If you don't want to be counted, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or enable your browser's Do Not Track setting. We don't use Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or any other third-party analytics. If we add a paid tier or account system in the future, we'll update this page and bump the date above.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) maintains standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, browser type, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are not used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties. They're retained per Vercel's standard policy.

Children's privacy

PupCrochet is intended for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). Since we don't collect any data, this is moot — but if you're a parent and have questions, please email us.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that collect data (an account system, analytics, a paid tier), we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantial changes will be announced on the home page.
